Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes fools broadcasters

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completely fooled CBS announcers Jim Nantz and Tony Romo, and likely the Las Vegas Raiders defense, in the second quarter of Sunday’s Week 7 game.
Mahomes and the Chiefs started the second quarter with a 4th and 1 decision. The Chiefs can try to get the Raiders to jump offside, the QB can sneak and try to convert for a first down, or they can take a penalty and move the ball back to set up for the punt. It looks like the superstar player is just trying to get the Raiders to take a penalty.

He sent forward Travis Kelce and running back Brashard Smith on the move and offered a few expletives before throwing the ball.
“That fucking never works, man,” Mahomes said.
When the ball was snapped, Nantz and Romo were fooled. The former Dallas Cowboys star was confident Mahomes would bounce the Raiders. Instead, he passed the ball to Kareem Hunt and the running back picked up the first down.
Mahomes kept his composure throughout the game. He was 26-of-35 for 286 passing yards and three TDs as Kansas City won the game 31-0. He was removed from the game after the third quarter, replaced by Gardner Minshew II.

Nine different Chiefs players had catches, including Rashee Rice.
Rice had seven catches for 42 yards and two touchdowns. This was his first game back following a six-game suspension and an anterior cruciate ligament tear. Marquise Brown caught the other touchdown.
Kansas City held Raiders quarterback Geno Smith to just 67 passing yards. Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty managed just 21 yards on the ground.
