‘That dude should be charged’

A viral TikTok video reached the “for you” page of millions of users and quickly sparked debate in the animal-loving community.

Videooriginally posted by user paul Reposted by (@arandompaul) and asiabir (@asiaone) shows an adult zoo visitor swinging a bag at a monkey sitting on the railing.

Allegedly, the monkey stole the food of the child who went to the zoo a few minutes before the video was shot. In response, the father swung the bag violently at the monkey, forcing it to retreat. Luckily the swipe missed hitting the monkey.

Other visitors to the zoo were visibly shocked and appalled by the man’s behavior; they shouted at him as the video ended. The outrage intensified online, where commenters expressed even stronger disapproval under the viral clip.

While the zoogoer’s paternal instincts may have come from the right place, his actions were clearly unwarranted and dangerous.

Zoos are a privilege for people to observe animals that are foreign to their location without having to travel around the world. It is very important that these animals are treated with care and respect, especially since many animals in captivity are in danger of extinction.

Events like this can even contribute to further endangerment of these animals. When wild animals in zoos or sanctuaries attack, even if provoked, they are often labeled as dangerous and can face serious consequences, including euthanasia.

This entire ordeal highlights why respecting boundaries and following zoo rules is critical. Every careless move can have lasting effects on the welfare and future of animals. conservation efforts.

Like the late, great Jane Goodall once was in question: “Respecting animals makes us better people.”

Commenters on the post were outraged at the man’s behavior towards money.

“This guy needs to be blamed,” one user said. His comments received more than 60,000 likes in support.

Another user added: “Almost all zoos (at least where I am) say don’t eat around animals.”
