Poundland closing 13 UK stores in November – full list | UK | News

Poundland will close 13 of its UK stores in November as it continues to restructure.
It was confirmed that 68 stores would close in June following the company’s acquisition by investment firm Gordon Brothers. The decision puts 1,300 jobs nationwide at risk.
Before the takeover, Poundland had around 800 stores across the country.
However, this number is expected to drop to between 650 and 700 as leases expire and other closures are approved.
In September, Poundland announced that 11 of its planned 68 stores – stores scheduled to close without full approval – would now remain open.
Barry Williams, managing director of Poundland, said: “We are determined to deliver a simpler, more focused Poundland that delivers on the promise of incredible value to customers.
“We appreciate the support we have received from suppliers, landlords and other partners who are now fully informed about our plans to get us back on track.
“While there is much work to be done, I am confident that a Poundland focused on the simple value our customers expect has a bright future.”
