John F Kennedy grandson says Julia Fox’s bloody Jackie Halloween costume ‘disgusting’ | John F Kennedy

Political writer and commentator Jack Schlossberg said actor Julia Fox wearing a Halloween costume evocative of her grandfather John F. Kennedy’s assassination was “disgusting, desperate and dangerous.”
But Fox defended his controversial decision to wear a replica of the bloody pink suit worn by former First Lady Jackie Kennedy, whose husband was shot and killed by a sniper while riding in a motorcade in Dallas in 1963. The Uncut Gems star said dressing as Jackie Kennedy was a “statement” about the poise and “extraordinary courage” she showed when subjected to unimaginable “brutality”.
Fox wore the suit in question at a Halloween party in New York on October 30. Many online met with negative reactions to an image of Fox in the outfit, with TikTok users calling the look a “terrible idea” and “disrespectful.”
One particularly notable reaction came from Schlossberg, the son of the Kennedys’ daughter Caroline. wrote in part about X: “Julia Fox’s glorification of political violence is disgusting, desperate and dangerous.”
Fox did not bow to the comments of Schlossberg and others during a speech by the 35-year-old actor and model. Instagram post She said she dresses like Jackie Kennedy “not as a costume, but as a statement.”
“When her husband was assassinated, she refused to change her bloody clothes, saying, ‘I want them to see what they’ve done,'” the post read. “The image of the delicate pink suit spattered with blood is one of the most haunting juxtapositions in modern history.
“Beauty and fear. Balance and destruction. Her decision not to change clothes, even after being encouraged, was an act of extraordinary courage. It was a performance, a protest, and a mourning all at once. A woman who weaponized image and grace to expose brutality. It’s about trauma, power, and how femininity itself is a form of resistance. Long live Jackie O ♥️”.
Following the JFK assassination, Jackie Kennedy refused to take off the dress as her husband was pronounced dead at Parkland hospital in Dallas and flown with his body to Washington, D.C., on Air Force One.
“Let them see what they’ve done,” he reportedly said before getting off the plane in the US capital.
Despite its dark past, the pink suit has become the most iconic First Lady outfit in fashion history. On the day of the assassination, the former First Lady was also wearing blue shoes, bloody socks and a blue blouse that was folded and stored without being cleaned.
It is often claimed that the dress was made by Chanel. But it was actually an authorized copy of a Chanel design. This is said to have been a strategy used by Jackie Kennedy, who died in 1994, to avoid public disapproval of her taste for European style.
All of these items protected as materials of historical interest in a climate-controlled vault at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland. Documents show that the Kennedy family did not want to hear the case publicly until 2103.
Controversy over Fox’s Halloween costume has surfaced as political violence has become one of the top topics of public debate in the United States.
It achieved this status in part because Donald Trump survived two assassination attempts while running for a second term as president in 2024. Other such cases were the firebombing of Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s home in April, the killing of Minnesota state House speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark in June, and the killing of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in September.
