Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy sought clarification from BRS working president KT Rama Rao on allegations of how late Maganti Gopinath’s mother said she was not allowed to meet her son in the hospital.
“BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son KTR are trying to exploit public sympathy over Mr. Gopinath’s death, leading to by-election in Jubilee Hills. But KTR must explain how Mr. Gopinath’s mother was treated by him and why she was not allowed to see her son in the ICU despite requests,” he said.
The minister made these remarks while touring various areas, including Borabanda division, where he interacted with locals on Friday as part of the Congress campaign in Jubilee Hills.
He alleged that the KCR family, after looting millions of rupees belonging to the people of Telangana, is now trying to cash in on the sentiments of Mr. Gopinath’s wife and BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha to win sympathy votes.
The minister also alleged that KTR has sidelined his own sister K. Kavitha and is now using the funds earned through commissions in the Kaleshwaram project to spend in the Jubilee Hills by-polls.
He added: “When N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana software engineers who were protesting peacefully were told to stage a protest in Andhra and the same KTR is now seeking votes from Telugu Desam sympathizers.”
