Small plane crashes near South Sudan capital, kills 14

A Cessna plane crashed on the outskirts of South Sudan’s capital, killing all 13 passengers and the pilot, the civil aviation authority said.

Preliminary reports indicate that the plane, coming from the town of Yei, may have crashed due to weather conditions that caused poor visibility, the official said.

It was stated that 2 of the dead were Kenyans and the rest were South Sudanese.

The official said a team was sent to the area about 20 km outside Juba.

Videos from the crash scene shared on social media showed the remains of the plane in flames.

The location shown looked rugged and foggy.
