Socialist Zohran Mamdani’s NYC victory party featured $13 Bud Light

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

It was a rude awakening for some young, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed socialites in New York City last week when they arrived at the Zohran Mamdani victory party in Brooklyn to discover that Bud Light costs a whopping $13. So what kind of socialist utopia is this?

In fact, the expensive suds are probably indicative of the impact Zany Zohran’s policies will have on Gotham. It will almost certainly be a carnival of errors rather than a clinical communist takeover, making New York City more expensive and less attractive, but with stylish Soviet-style posters and TikTok videos.

And guess what? Mamdani will be mayor for two terms, even as crime skyrockets because Mamdani hates the cops, buses are still not free, rents continue to rise, and the city becomes more divided than ever.

There is no Republican Rudy Giuliani 2.0 waiting in the wings, and even if there were, these voters would not elect him.

REPUBLICANS ARE WORKING TO MAKE MAMDANI THE NEW FACE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

In the days before the election, I traveled across the five boroughs and found no apocalyptic fears about Mamdani among moderate and conservative New Yorkers, even as billionaires, politicians and editorial boards chastised them for not lining up behind Andrew Cuomo to “save the city.”

“I’m not even going to Manhattan,” said Steve, a lifelong resident of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. “There’s everything I need here.”

In the blue-collar district where cops live and the mafia runs rampant, Steve has seen the mob survive for nearly half a century not only under the disastrous leadership of former socialist Mayor Bill de Blasio, but also the even worse old days of David Dinkins.

PAST: THE CRAZIEST MOMENTS MAMDANI CAME FROM THE WAY TO HER CAMPAIGN TO BE NYC’S NEXT MAYOR

Like The Dude in “The Big Lebowski,” this and many of New York City’s tougher workplaces will continue to exist. Other parts of the city where gang crime, drug dealing and vagrancy proliferate will become increasingly worse, but such places are easily ignored by champagne socialists.

Another reason Mamdani’s smooth transition into a second term is that his base is made up of transplants, young adults in their 20s and 30s who know full well they’ll come to New York City and settle elsewhere. To them, a minor crime can be like the mustard on Nathan’s hot dog.

After all, the reason Gotham sentenced Zohran’s socialist leadership to eight years in prison is because the Republican Party refuses to even compete on the national, state, or even city level.

Some of this goes back to Michael Bloomberg, who cynically won the mayoral race in 2002 by running as a Republican and then suddenly became an Independent, turning the GOP into a third party clinging to its only competitive congressional seat and a few city council seats.

Maybe the situation is hopeless for Republicans in Gotham. Maybe things will never get bad enough for everyone again that a new Rudy will emerge, and given how the original is treated today, who would want to be that person anyway?

No matter how bad the situation is, the city will blame Trump. Or Vance. Or racism, Islamophobia or whatever comes to your mind. Not for nothing, they would re-elect De Blasio if they could.

LIZ PEEK: DEMOCRATS LOVE MAMDANI’S WINNING – THEY WILL CRY SOON

Notice how the billionaires are now changing their tune, promising to work with Mamdani, begging for meetings with new communist mayors. Gone are the gnashing of teeth and wailing over the demise of New York City.

Right-leaning Gothamites haven’t bought up all of Sturm und Drang anyway, and they certainly aren’t letting rich guys tell them how to vote.

If there’s any hope for the GOP to make a comeback in New York City, they better start now, because with ranked-choice primary voting, there isn’t a moderate Democrat in the universe who can topple Zohran while they still exist.

Elections have consequences, and the outcome will be socialism in New York City for at least the next eight years. After your child performs, they will have to watch the entire scene from start to finish, like sitting through a two-hour recital.

Those $13 Bud Lights will be the smallest.

Fasten your seatbelts Gotham, it’s going to be a bumpy ride, and if there are any Republicans other than Curtis Sliwa who are going to oppose socialism, they need to say it now, or they may literally remain silent forever.
