Trump to meet Zohran Mamdani at White House

President Donald Trump said Wednesday night that he will meet with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani at the White House on Friday.
The meeting was held at the request of Mamdani, a democratic socialist who stunned the US political world by defeating former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic mayoral primary in June and then won again against Cuomo in the general election this month.
Trump backed Cuomo in the general election at the last minute and threatened to withhold federal funds from New York if Mamdani, 34, wins.

“And that’s just something that’s been going on for the last few months of this year, where we’re hearing about child care concerns, rent concerns, Con Ed concerns, even busing concerns.”
