Tata Consultancy Services faces legal setback as US Court upholds $194 million damages case

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced that the Fifth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled against it, upholding the District Court’s damages award on November 21, 2025. The total of these losses reached $194 million to India’s largest IT company.

“We note that the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit entered an adverse decision on November 21, 2025 (evening US time) and affirmed the District Court’s decision on damages. However, the Court vacated the previously issued preliminary injunction and directed the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, to reconsider the direction on which the Court of Appeals based its preliminary injunction.”
