Andhra King Taluka Clocks Rs 4 Crore On Day One?

The much-hyped fan-based biopic Andhra King Taluka has reportedly opened to promising numbers in Telugu states. According to a leading distributor, the film collected around Rs 4 million on the first day, which he called a “good start” for the team. He also adds that out of everyone, Ram Pothineni is the one who urgently needs a solid blow to revive his form.

Ram Pothineni, who plays an oppressed fan of the matinee idol (Upendra), is said to have given an impressive performance, especially in the romantic episodes. However, the distributor states that the film has some flaws.

The story takes an interesting turn when Ram’s childhood admiration for his favorite star gives Upendra the title of “King of Andhra”. However, the director introduces the character of Ram in the film as Andhra King Taluka and the distributor thinks this is an unrealistic cinematic freedom. “A fan cannot become their favorite star overnight,” he argues. “A Mahesh Babu fan can never suddenly become Mahesh Babu. But in the film, this huge distance is blurred for commercial reasons, diluting an otherwise honest story.”

Despite the narrative concessions, Andhra King Taluka marks a significant departure for Ram Pothineni, who has been struggling after recent flops like Double iSmart and Skanda. The actor hopes that this film will help him pull himself together and regain the momentum he has gained.
