How much snow can St. Louis expect on Monday?
ST. LOUIS – As one system moves out of the region, another soon lags behind. Our attention turns to a low front over the Rocky Mountains that will move east overnight and eventually into Missouri and Illinois on Monday afternoon.
This system will bring another snowfall to the region. However, this snow will be much faster and drier in nature and will not accumulate like the previous thick, wet snow we experienced on Saturday.
Snow will be heaviest from northeastern Missouri to central Illinois and will surround our northernmost counties from Pike County, Missouri, to Montgomery County, Illinois. Snowfall totals in this band will increase to the two to three inch range, with a few spots pushing four inches. Farther south and across much of the FOX 2 viewing area, the storm will be weaker and more transient, with moisture somewhat limited. As a result, profit totals drop slightly; Much of the region is seeing a dusting of perhaps five inches in a few areas where the snow band is a little longer.
The Monday morning commute will be dry for us, but it will be cold and cloudy.

The timing of the snowfall, St. In the St. Louis metro, it will be delayed until kids get home from school, but it may affect some after-school activities. Snow will fall earlier in the north and northwest of the metro area and later in the south and southeast. St. Snowfall rates in the St. Louis metro will be highest between 5pm and 10pm, and will likely last only part of that time. The system will clear the area before 1pm on Tuesday.
Cold air sticks around for the remainder of our seven-day forecast; Wednesday will be our melt day as high temperatures approach 40 degrees. This snowmelt will gradually end as another cold air mass moves in Wednesday night. This will leave temperatures in the teens or single digits during the Thursday morning commute, and we’re warming up into the mid-20s for Thursday afternoon highs.
There is a slight chance of wintry precipitation on Friday, but as of now it is not being highlighted as the possibilities are very low over the seven-day period.
