Appearing on The Jess Row Big Talk Show, Sarah, whose mother died in a car crash in Argentina in 1998, talked about how the late royal was a maternal figure in her life.

He said: “The thing about the Queen was that she was my mother more than my own mother. The Queen was the iconic, legendary, brave, determined, invisible hand of love behind you.”

Although they were known to have a loving relationship, Sarah admitted she was “guarded with herself” when in the late Queen’s presence.

On the first anniversary of the late Queen’s death in September 2023, Sarah referred to her as a “second mother” in an emotional tribute.

She wrote: “I will miss him more than words can express.”

Despite their tumultuous relationship, Sarah paid tribute to her own mother with a post on the anniversary of her late mother’s death last year. He was “too young to be taken from us,” he wrote.
