Five missing after they fell in Brahmaputra river

Guwahati: Five people are still missing after they fell into the Brahmaputra river at Kharghuli in Guwahati.

A group of eight youths went to Bhakti Kutir near Kharghuli hills in Guwahati to pray on Wednesday afternoon, a police official said.

Located in the serene Kharghuli area of ​​Guwahati, Bhakti Kutir is a Radha Govind Temple and also a spiritual centre.
All eight people went to bathe in the river, the official said. While 3 of them were rescued, the other 5 could not return and disappeared.

NDRF started the rescue mission to rescue the five missing people but has not been able to save anyone so far.

“We immediately launched a search operation. We were told that five of the group are missing so far,” an NDRF official said. he said.
