FM Sitharaman to Move Appropriation Bill in Lok Sabha Today

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will introduce the Appropriation (No. 4) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha on Monday and seek authority for disbursement and allocation of additional amounts from the Consolidated Fund of India to meet the expenditure requirements for the financial year 2025-26.

The Lok Sabha will meet at 11 am with a busy agenda that includes Question Hour, preparation of papers, committee reports and important legislative business. According to the Backlog, the Minister of Finance will ask Parliament for permission to present the bill and have it discussed and adopted. The bill relates to additional financial requirements for various government services during the current fiscal year.

The House was attended by former Members of Parliament Subhash Ahuja (Sixth Lok Sabha), Prof. It will begin with the obituary of Salahuddin (Eighth Lok Sabha) and Bal Krishna Chauhan (Thirteenth Lok Sabha). This will be followed by Question Time, where questions and answers are listed separately.

Several Union Ministers will submit official documents to the Parliamentary Table. These include the Ministries of Culture, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, Education, Finance, Labor and Employment, Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Tourism and Corporate Affairs.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) reports for 2025-26 will also be presented. KC Venugopal and Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy will discuss the Thirty-Fourth Report on the grant of irregular incentives and allowances and the Thirty-Fifth Report on actions taken regarding the recommendations regarding the National Social Assistance Programme.

As part of committee-related business, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and Malvika Devi will present the Statement of Final Action Taken by the Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on recommendations regarding Grant Demands.

In the Ministerial Statements section, Pankaj Chaudhary will present four statements on the status of implementation of the recommendations of the Standing Committees on Finance covering Demands for Grants, cybersecurity and rising cyber and white-collar crimes. All explanations will be given in Hindi and English.

Additionally, Tourism Minister Suresh Gopi will make a statement on the implementation of the recommendations in the 379th Report of the Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture.

The agenda will conclude with matters under Rule 377, followed by discussion and voting on the Supplemental Requests for 2025-26 Grants and further consideration of the cuts motions filed earlier this month.
