Food safety is something we take for granted. The ingredients match what’s on the label; Of course it is. And food won’t make you sick, not here. These are constant comfort in Australia. We pack Imodium when we go abroad.
However, most of the food consumed in Australia comes from abroad. The things we eat are only safe to the extent that our systems manage to keep the bad stuff out.
