Sainte-Thérèse | Attempted murder by firearm

An attempted murder by firearm caused a stir Thursday morning in downtown Sainte-Thérèse, north of Montreal.

It was around 7:10 a.m. that police officers from the Régie intermunicipale de police Thérèse-de-Blainville (RIPTB) received a call from a witness reporting that a man in his twenties had been shot, near 101 boulevard Ducharme. The scene is located a few dozen meters from Lionel-Groulx College, very close to an early childhood center and just opposite the RIPTB police station.
“The normal activities of the CEGEP are not currently affected,” said Jean-Sébastien Lacasse, preventionist-investigator at RIPTB, in an interview. It didn’t involve an employee or a CEGEP student, either. »

The scene is located a few dozen meters from Lionel-Groulx College, very close to an early childhood center and just opposite the RIPTB police station.
The victim was transported to a hospital. The severity of his injuries had not yet been communicated at the time of writing. No suspects have been arrested.
“Our police officers and investigators are currently on site,” explains chief inspector Karine Desaulniers in a press release. A security perimeter was erected to allow analysis of the scene. Witnesses are also being met as part of the investigation, which is beginning. »
The RIPTB is looking for anyone with relevant information and is asking the population to avoid the Ducharme Boulevard area, “in order to facilitate police work.”
