Prince Harry and Meghan set to release another Netflix documentary | Royal | News

Prince Harry is allegedly planning to make a movie in 2027 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the death of his mother, the late Princess Diana. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already partnered with Netflix to produce series such as Polo, With Love, Meghan, Heart of Invictus and the self-titled documentary Harry & Meghan. But the only documentary that caught the attention of the streamer’s subscribers was their explosive documentary, leading many to question why Netflix renewed its deal with the duo.

A source told the outlet: Royalist: “At this point it’s hard to understand how and why the relationship continues unless there’s something interesting and possibly Diana-shaped swinging going on.”

Another source added: “It’s definitely not been a very fruitful deal so far. Meghan’s TV show hasn’t done anything on the Netflix charts. But if something Diana-related is really coming, you could see Netflix pursuing that relationship for a price.”

Decider’s Mark Graham gave a critical analysis of Meghan’s latest show. He told The Royalist: “More troublingly, neither the second season of this show nor the last Christmas special broke into Netflix’s Top 10 in the United States or the United Kingdom, let alone globally. Maybe these two will have better luck staying behind the scenes and producing material that doesn’t feature both sides?”

The Christmas special of the Duchess’ lifestyle show ‘With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration’ premiered on Netflix on December 3.

It has also been reported that the couple will be involved in the Archewell production company’s new romantic adaptation of author Jasmine Guillory’s novel The Wedding Date.

The book was published in 2018 and was the first book in a six-book series. It is adapted by screenwriter Tracy Oliver.

The Sussexes’ most successful series has been Harry & Meghan, the controversial 2022 tell-all documentary about their step back from royal duties and their struggles within the Royal Family.

The series, which reached 23.4 million views in total, became Netflix’s fifth most popular documentary series of all time.

The couple’s other major media deal with Spotify ended in 2023 after one season of Meghan’s podcast Archetypes, with one of the streaming giant’s executives later branding them “scammers”.
