Rachel Reeves’ billionaire exodus sees major UK rich list shake up | UK | News

Britain’s richest have seen their fortunes change after a dramatic year for Britain’s super-rich. Sunday Times Rich List 2025 It reveals a record decline in the number of billionaires. The annual rankings show Britain lost more billionaires in the last 12 months than at any time since the list began; amid falling asset values, market uncertainty and growing concerns about tax changes introduced under Labour.

Many wealthy individuals have dropped off the list altogether, according to the Times, while others are no longer classified as UK-based after moving abroad. Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ decision to scrap non-domiciled tax status has been cited as a key factor behind immigration, with critics warning that the reforms are prompting both overseas investors and British entrepreneurs to reconsider their ties to the UK.

According to the latest Rich List, the six richest people in Britain are:

6. Guy, George, Alannah and Galen Weston and family

The Weston family comes sixth on the list, with an estimated fortune of £17.7bn.
