ACB Takes 13 RTO Agents Into Custody in Khammam

Hammam: ACB officials carried out a surprise check at the road transport office (RTO) in Khammam on Saturday and detained 13 agents based on information that they were operating illegally at the facility and aiding corrupt practices.
ACB DSP Y. Ramesh informed media persons that 13 agents were detained and ₹78,120 cash seized from their possession. Investigators also found 837 original vehicle registration certificates (RC) and driver’s licenses in custody. Attendance records, cash registers and other official records were not kept properly.
The presence of unauthorized agents handling official documents indicated serious procedural violations and possible corruption.
