Mumbai water supply to be hit for 87 hours from December 22: Check affected areas, timings

BMC urges residents to store adequate amount of water in advance and use water economically during this period.

Water pressure is likely to be low in various parts of Mumbai for 87 hours from 10 am on 22 December (Monday) to 01 am on 26 December 2025. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has confirmed that residents of S North, N East and H East areas will be affected due to essential infrastructure works related to the Mumbai Metro Line 7A project.

Mumbai Water Supply Outage: List of Affected Areas

S Northern Region

  • Dharavi Loop Road
  • AK Nagar
  • Jasmine Mill Road
  • Matunga Kamgar Colony
  • Sant Rohidas Road
  • 60 Meter Road
  • 90 Meter Road
  • Sant Kakaiya Road
  • Member of Parliament Nagar Dhorwada
  • Mahatma Gandhi Road

Water supply in these areas will be affected due to low pressure from 09:00 to 17:00 every day from 22 December to 25 December, and normal water supply from 04:00 to 12:00 will also be affected. Evening supply will also be affected due to low pressure between 17:00 and 22:00.

N Eastern Region

  • Kabir Nagar
  • Bamanvada
  • Airport Area
  • Koldongri
  • vijaynagar

Residents will experience low pressure during scheduled supply hours from 14:00 to 17:30 and from 17:00 to 22:00.

H Eastern Region

  • Bandra-Kurla Complex
  • Prabhat Colony
  • Kalina

These areas will experience low water pressure between 22:00 – 23:40. Water supply will also be affected between 03:30 – 09:00 from 23 December to 25 December.

Counseling for Residents

BMC urges residents to store adequate amount of water in advance and use water economically during this period. Additionally, the civic body recommends boiling and filtering water as a precaution. This planned outage is part of wider efforts to improve the city’s infrastructure through the Metro Line 7A project, which aims to improve public transport connectivity in Mumbai. BMC is committed to minimizing inconvenience to residents during these important works.
