Odisha Governor Kambhampati Haribabu asked the student community to take responsibility for ensuring cultural integration among different cultures and states of India.
Addressing the 44th State convention of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Sunday, Mr. Haribabu recalled his duty as Governor of Mizoram when he facilitated a cultural exchange with students from the southern states.
“We can achieve national unity only when relations with the northeastern states witness improvement. ABVP’s Student Experience in Interstate Living (SEIL) Project has achieved tremendous success on this front,” he said.
Mr. Haribabu also called on the youth wing to launch a tirade against the rampant drug menace in the country and create awareness among other students about the impact of substance abuse not only on their future but also on the country.
The ‘Janamanchi Gouriji Yuva Puraskar’ award was given to Girish Nallagutta, founder of ‘Wellwisher’, a voluntary organization based in Madanapalle. ABVP State president N. Srinivas read out the inspiring life of Gouriji.
