After two months’ search, Kerala’s ‘man-eater’ tiger captured at Karuvarakundu

After a long -term search for about two months after the tragic death of a man in Kalikavu, the forest department finally made a breakthrough. A tiger believed to be human -eating was stuck in a strategically established cage by the forest staff at the Sultan of Estate in the Sultan in the Karuvarakundu on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

The adult animal looked weak because of hunger. However, the forest staff could not confirm whether there was the same tiger in the May 15 attack in Kalikavu, which resulted in human death.

Tiger’s capture drank relaxation from both forest staff and local residents. Kalikavu, 44 -year -old tire Tapper Tapper Gafoor Ali in Kalikavu has been living in fear since the May 15 attack that claims the life of Kalikavu and Karuvarakundu’s rugged regions.

Following the public anger, the Forest Department launched a comprehensive search for a human -eating leadership of Arun Zachariah, the Chief Middle Forest Veterinary Surgeon. Although he caught the tiger many times in the camera traps, he escaped from the cage traps set in various places. Interestingly, a leopard once caught one of the traps and was later released into the nilanburus forest.

Over the past few weeks, local residents had seen an old weak tiger circulating in various parts of the Undu. And the tiger hunt increased growing unrest while dragging without any results.

However, with a dramatic event, the chance of the tiger ended in the cage trap in the early hours of Sunday and finally brought a wave of relief that calms the nerves of worried residents and forest staff.

The capture of the tiger is expected to end a period of fear and tension and bring a feeling of closure and relaxation to society.
