Aldi to make huge change to 1 part of supermarkets across UK next week | UK | News

Aldi is set to make a big change to part of the supermarket from next week. The popular and affordable supermarket is known for its center aisle offering interesting homewares, non-food deals, appliances, toys, sporting goods and seasonal items.
Aldi typically introduces these products under the Special Buys category in the iconic center aisle every Thursday and Saturday, giving customers more selection options. But this week shoppers will be surprised to see a change in the aisle. There will be no new Special Buys on Thursday as Aldi stores will be closed for Christmas Day.
The schedule is likely to change further over the next few weeks due to Bank Holiday disruption. An Aldi spokesman said: “The next Specialbuy release is planned for Sunday 28 December, so we will see new stock drops after the Christmas period.”
Since New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday this year, next week’s schedule will also change.
The spokesperson added: “Specialbuys for next week will be released on Friday 2 January and Sunday 4 January.”
Since holiday disruptions are only temporary, Aldi expects Specialbuys in the center aisle to return to its regular schedule from Sunday, January 4, and shoppers will be able to keep track of upcoming items by checking the retailer’s website.
Meanwhile, Special Buys arriving on Sunday, December 28 are themed to help customers kick off 2026 feeling refreshed, organized, and ready to kick off the new year on a regular basis.
As a result, the center aisle will be full of practical home-focused items such as a three-tiered rattan drawer unit, priced at £9.99, and Dettol antibacterial surface wipes, £2.69, alongside other products designed to support cleaning, decluttering and home organisation.
