15 injured in Japan during stabbing spree, chemical attack at tire factory

While 15 people were injured, one suspect was detained. stabbing spree and chemical attack In a tire factory in central Japan.
The 38-year-old gunman was killed Friday at Yokohama Rubber Co. in Mishima, west of Tokyo, authorities said. He allegedly stabbed eight people and injured seven others at the facility.
The cause of the incident is unclear, but the suspect is believed to be a former employee of the factory, Kyodo news agency reported, citing investigative sources.
Japanese newspaper Asahi added that the suspect was carrying a survival knife and wearing what appeared to be a gas mask.

Fujisan Nanto Fire Department told The Associated Press that five of those stabbed were in serious condition.
Images and videos taken at the scene show first responders swarming the plant.

Shizuoka prefecture police said: The attacker was arrested for alleged attempted murder.
Media reports stated that all of the stabbing victims were conscious when they were transported to local hospitals.

The fire department said seven other people injured by bleach thrown at them during the attack were also taken to hospital.
