Bodoland’s indigenous groups face demographic threat: Assam CM

Assam Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called on the indigenous peoples living in the Bodoland Regional Region (BTR) of the survey to analyze the demographic threat from a community to “not name” and take measures.

He referred to the 2020 National Family Health Research Report and said that the “fertility rate of 26 domestic communities in ASSAM fell to 2.1 (2.2 children who were born in the previous report).

“Bodos, who has been self -ruling for decades, should understand who or what their biggest challenges are in terms of population.

According to 2020 data, the total fertility rate of Muslims in Assam was 1.6 for Hindus and 2.4 for Christians 1.5. However, the fertility among Muslims fell from 3.6 to 1.3 in 2005-06.

Unprecedented peace

Mr Sarma praised the BTC government, headed by Pramod Boro for giving “unprecedented” peace during four years and four months.

He said that the self -rule movement in the areas dominated by Bodos since 1968 has led to a series of conflicts, including an ethnic species and extremism. “We thought that Bodoland was once a lost region where peace was impossible. However, after Narendra Modi became prime minister in 2014, the initiatives made the way of peace.”

The Prime Minister said January 2020 Bodo Peace Agreement has started a new age of peace. Bodo students, including the body and extreme groups of all stakeholders, including, said, “No bullet is fired in BTR and the bomb explosion makes me proud.” He added.

Happiness Index

‘Bodoland Speaks: Vision From Vision to Eyleme’ to address the event, Mr. Sarma, BTC officials underlined the adoption of the Bhutan Growth Index model.

“Butan, unlike our gross domestic product that may not reflect the welfare of ordinary people, the factors in spiritual, cultural, social and economic development and the interactions between different ethnic groups renewed the Gross National Happiness Index speaking for the happiness mission of Bodoland,” he said.

Pramod Boro, CEO of BTC, said that cultural protection and mutual respect among various communities are the basis for the government’s efforts to achieve permanent peace and sustainable growth.

“BTR, who was wounded with ethnic conflict for years, has been living peace for almost five years and allowed his people to move forward without survival. We have provided an atmosphere that people respect each other’s culture and heritage,” he said.

Diversity celebration

Mr. Boro, Sunday’s event is a celebration of BTR’s diversity and folk art forms were forwarded to the bases of the awards, he said. Among the several initiatives initiated during the event was a broadcast with 1,001 words and 1,001 sentences spoken by 18 communities living in BTR.

There are 46 seats for the members who are nominated for six of the BTC, which manages BTR. The Council is ruled by Liberal, the United People’s Party, the ally of the Bharatia Janata Party of Mr. Boro.

BTC elections probably until September.
