Alan Carr is reportedly out of the running to become the new Strictly Come Dancing host as his 2027 tour dates clash with the show’s date.
The 49-year-old comedian is said to be one of the BBC’s top choices to replace Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, who resigned earlier this month.
Alan became a TV sensation during his stint on Celebrity Traitors earlier this year and the broadcaster is too ‘inside’ to capitalize on his huge popularity.
The BBC is now said to be eyeing former It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark as a potential host of the programme.
‘Alan is among the possible Golden Ten presenters and will not take part in the tests, which the BBC nixed. He was their favorite to take one of the positions but he cannot change his tour because he is speaking to the BBC,” a source said. Sun.
‘It is not possible to rearrange the dates planned for 2027 and Alan had to make a choice. The BBC understands his position but they are very disappointed.

Alan is starring in his new show, Have I Said Too Much? will tour the UK and Ireland extensively in 2027. – with 90 dates in total.
The second leg of the tour begins in September and runs until November, which coincides with Strictly.
Alan was one of the three frontrunners; Bradley Walsh and Alex Jones were also favorites.
According to reports, contestants will be subjected to a series of partner swapping chemistry tests as BBC executives are keen to find the perfect on-screen match.
A source told Sun previously: ‘Replacing Claudia and Tess is a huge task but the BBC has whittled the talent down to ten people.
As well as ‘Bradley’, Alex and Alan, Rylan Clark, Rob Rinder, Zoe Ball and Holly Willoughby will also be at the chemistry day.

‘Amanda Holden, Alison Hammond and Angela Scanlon also made the cut.’
The insider added that the stars will be brought into a studio and placed in different pairings to see whose on-screen connection is the strongest.
They explained that pairings could consist of two women, two men, or a mixed union; because surely the bosses are trying to ‘mix things up’ and come up with a combination that hasn’t been tried before.
In a statement announcing their departure in October, Tess and Claudia said: ‘We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time.
‘We’re looking forward to watching the rest of this fantastic series and we’d like to say a huge thank you to the BBC and everyone who worked on the programme. They are the brightest team and we will miss them every day.
‘We’ll cry the last time we say ‘keep dancing’, but we’ll keep saying it to each other. Probably at home wearing sweatpants and holding a pizza.’
