Conservative activist Robby Starbuck scored a major legal victory against Google on Friday because his defamation lawsuit can move forward, the Delaware Supreme Court ruled.
Last October, Starbuck filed a lawsuit against Google for at least $15 million, claiming that the company’s artificial intelligence programs had defamed him by falsely portraying him as a “monster” to millions of users as “AI hallucinations.”
“The court finds these allegations to be sufficient to support the claim for emotional distress damages at this stage of the trial, which are sufficiently well supported to continue exploring and detailing the allegations,” Judge Meghan Adams wrote in the court filing. he said.

Starbucks announced the discovery victory on social media.

Starbuck later wrote: “Google is one of the most powerful companies in the world. It may even be the most powerful. But today, on July 24, 2026, they failed to close the courthouse doors on us. In short, today David gave Goliath a chance. Why? Not because David is too great, but because he is God and man’s quest for justice is just. Today is a historic victory, and now we will prepare to win the rest of this fight, not just for me, but for all of us.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Starbuck marveled at the “historic decision.”
“As we enter an era where artificial intelligence increasingly dominates everything around us, we must ensure that it does not harm people. What was done to me should never happen to anyone else,” Starbuck said. “We must draw a line in the sand that the AI being built cannot harm humans, whether through libel or future physical harm. I hope this case will be the line in the sand. I look forward to discovering if we can dig deeper into why and how this happened and whether any political bias played a role.”
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The lawsuit alleges that Google’s AI platforms (Bard, Gemini, and Gemma) have continued to publish false statements about Starbuck since 2023 despite multiple cease and desist letters. Among the false statements were claims that he was accused of sexual assault, rape and harassment.
The lawsuit also alleges that Gemini “stated” that the alleged lies about Starbuck were shown to 2,843,917 unique users.

“The breaking point for me was when they accused me of raping children. That’s when I thought, ‘We need to pursue the case. They’re clearly not taking this seriously. It’s heading towards something much more serious and crazy,” Starbuck previously told Fox News Digital.
Starbuck said that the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk made him realize that “some crazy people might believe this stuff,” which prompted him to set things right.
