Gordon Ramsay publicly throws support behind new son-in-law Adam Peaty after fans spotted ‘subtle jab’ in Olympic swimmer’s wedding speech amid bitter family fallout

Gordon Ramsay publicly showed his support for new son-in-law Adam Peaty on Saturday after fans noticed a “subtle emphasis” in the groom’s wedding speech.
The 31-year-old Olympian married stunning Holly, 25, at Bath Abbey on December 27, followed by a reception at the opulent Kin House, amid a bitter row with his family after his mother Caroline was not invited to the proceedings.
Many famous faces attended the ceremony, including their close friends the Beckhams.
Now, in a new clip shared on Instagram, Adam has delivered an emotional speech, revealing that he will ‘always choose his wife’ and encouraging Gordon to show his love and support publicly.
The groom appeared visibly emotional at the altar, wiping away tears as Holly was given away by her father.
Gordon commented under the video: ‘Nice words @adamramsaypeaty @hollyramsaypeaty True Love ❤️ congratulations love you both so much dad ❤️’

But fans were quick to speculate about the content of Adam’s speech, with one writing: ‘I will always choose you – hmmmm, can’t help but wonder how Victoria is doing. [Beckham] I felt like I heard that sentence, especially since it’s the same sentence Brooklyn uses in her posts as a subtle jab at her family.’
The comment referenced the widely reported Beckham family tensions that arose after Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz did not attend Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations last year.
Brooklyn later insisted he would ‘always choose Nicola’, further fueling speculation that he had fallen out with his family.
Since Adam and Holly’s wedding, fans have drawn comparisons between the two families, with one family writing under their wedding photo: ‘I expect the Beckhams to be upset by their ‘best friend’s’ behaviour, considering Brooklyn did exactly this to them.’
The roots of this terrible family conflict date back to September 2024, when Adam and Holly snubbed extended members of the Peaty family by not inviting them to their engagement party.
Caroline, who for years took her son to early morning training sessions, was not invited to Holly’s lavish hen party at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds last month, despite the bride’s mother Tana Ramsay and her friends, including Victoria Beckham, being at the extravagant bash.
Despite everything, Caroline sent her newlywed son a card and a gift for his 31st birthday.
Meanwhile, Adam’s great-aunt Janet, 73, who was also left out of the wedding, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘I feel so sorry for Caroline.

But fans were quick to speculate about the content of Adam’s speech, with one writing: ‘I will always choose you – hmmmm, can’t help but wonder how Victoria is doing. [Beckham] ‘I felt it when I heard this sentence’
‘I can’t believe he did this to his mother, who has done so much for him from a young age. ‘It’s not kind to be treated this way.’
Despite being ostracized, a distraught Caroline had threatened to come to the wedding anyway, and if she was banned from the convent she would stand outside and watch from the street.
She said she changed her mind after her husband Mark convinced her it would be ‘very sad’.
If he had defied his son’s ban, he would have found himself face to face with five security guards waiting outside the monastery’s ancient and elaborately carved wooden gates, framed by decorative columns of white roses and hydrangeas.
The Peaty family were not invited to the weddings, except for Adam’s sister Beth, who was a bridesmaid.
According to reports, Adam’s dad Mark was the only person other than Beth who wanted to attend the big day, but was told he had to sit “behind the plus ones”.
After Adam’s estranged brother James was kicked off the invitation list, he posted an old photo of his mother Caroline Peaty standing outside the wedding venue.
The touching photo was deleted just 15 minutes after it was shared on Instagram Story; this perhaps signaled regret at how bitter the feud had become.
The comment referenced the widely reported Beckham family tensions that arose after Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz did not attend Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations last year (LR Cruz Beckham, Romeo Beckham, Brooklyn Beckham, Harper Beckham, David Beckham, Victoria Beckham and Nicola).
Brooklyn later insisted he would ‘always choose Nicola’, fueling speculation that he had fallen out with his family.
It will not go unnoticed by those who follow the location selection in the photo that Adam and Holly got married just a few hours before the photo was published.
The photo, taken on a different occasion, shows mother and son standing alone and wearing what could be their wedding attire, in a symbolic gesture.
James, who was arrested for allegedly sending threatening messages to the athlete, especially during his bachelorette party, used an impressive song alongside the visual.
The song James chose was a remix of ‘Speak Softly, Love’, which was seen several times in the iconic Mafia movie The Godfather.
The first of the trilogy was released in 1972 and tells the story of the son of a mob boss Michael Corleone. [Al Pacino] Meeting ‘stranger’ Kay Adams [Diane Keaton].
It seems that in this case James is comparing the Corleones to the Ramsays, a more powerful family; his brother Adam is a ‘stranger’.
The relationship deteriorates as Michael embraces his role as Mafia boss, culminating in the final scene where the door is closed on Kay, symbolizing his exclusion.
Last month, it was revealed Holly and Adam had banned her mum from their wedding following a surprising family row over Holly not inviting her future mother-in-law to her hen party (Photo taken with mum Caroline and Holly in 2024)
The now-deleted post of James and his mother was the only photo shared on the Instagram page, and all images have since been completely deleted.
The Ramsay family spent thousands of dollars on the venue, where weddings normally cost around £2,500, and were block-booked on a daily basis to ensure the service took place in absolute secrecy.
Apart from the conspicuous absence of Peaty’s family, the bride and groom were pronounced husband and wife without any drama.
The newlyweds left the church at around 1.30pm to the joyful ringing of the abbey bells and were whisked away to their reception at Kin House, a Georgian manor house near Chippenham, 17 miles away.
