UP Minister of State for Welfare of Backward Classes and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap has given instructions for effective implementation of schemes for rehabilitation of persons with disabilities at the grassroots level. In the statement, the minister said that the priority of the Yogi government is to ensure that people with disabilities have equal opportunities in all areas of education, skills, health and employment and are self-sufficient.
Under this program, grants are provided to rehabilitation projects carried out for people affected by the 21 types of disabilities mentioned in the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of 2016, so that children and young people with disabilities can benefit from appropriate opportunities for early intervention, education, training and skills development.
