Priyank Kharge, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and in-charge of Kalaburagi district, said that the dream of providing quality coaching for competitive exams to talented candidates in Kalyana Karnataka region has been realized with the inauguration of Prabuddha Pre-Exam Training Academy.
Inaugurating the academy on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city on January 11, Mr. Kharge said the center is not just a building but also a platform that will shape the future of candidates preparing for IAS, IPS, KAS and other competitive exams.
He said that the project was planned when he was the Minister of Social Welfare, but was postponed after the change of government. Emphasizing that education and employment should not be affected by politics, Kharge said, “After the Congress came to power, we restarted the work, completed it and inaugurated the academy. The facility was built on 10,000 square meters at a cost of ₹30 crore.”
Referring to past irregularities in the PSI exam, Mr. Kharge said many students who went to Bengaluru for coaching were struggling to even have a single meal. He said the academy was established to ensure that students in the region would never face such challenges again.
The Minister said that efforts would be made to make the academy a center of excellence and suggested that IAS and IPS officers in the district should volunteer to train candidates at the academy.
He said that two city buses of the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation have been deployed to facilitate transportation of the candidates. Out of the total candidates who applied for the entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority, 500 candidates will be selected on the basis of merit for the training.
Minister of Medical Education Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil said that the academy will provide quality coaching facilities to students in the region for competitive exams, bridging a long-standing gap and reducing students’ dependence on metropolitan cities for exam preparation.
Legislators MY Patil, Allamprabhu Patil, Thippannappa Kamaknoor, Jagdev Guttedar and Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Tarannum were present.
