Four students from State model schools nominated to ‘Sakura Science’ programme

The Ministry of School Education on Monday nominated four students studying in public schools for the annual ‘Japan Science High School Programme’, also known as ‘Sakura Science’.

Implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), the program invites outstanding high school students for a week and gives them the opportunity to witness and learn about advanced scientific technology and interact with top scientists. This year the program is planned to take place between 24-30 May.

Based on the department, students are first selected at the district level and then eliminated at the State level.

The nominated students were G. Shivanjali (first year at Inter Telangana Model School and Junior College, Sadhashivnagar), Ch. Akshaya (Inter, first year at Telangana Residential Junior College, Hasanparthy), B. Parusha (Inter, first year at IIIT Mahabubnagar) and B. Venu (Inter, first year at Telangana Model School, Irkode).
