3 more Dems in ‘refuse illegal orders’ video report they are being investigated

Three more Democratic lawmakers who participated in a video message encouraging soldiers to “reject illegal orders” said they were being investigated by federal prosecutors.

Reps. Jason Crow of Colorado, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania and Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire said Wednesday they received questions from U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro requesting an interview with them or their attorneys. New York Times.

“We will not step back,” he added in his video message. “Our job, our duty, is to ensure that the law is followed. We will not be threatened, we will not be intimidated and we will not be silenced. I am more courageous than ever to make sure that I fulfill my duty and that I will not back down.”

Crow, Houlahan, Goodlander, Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., and Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., in the controversial video released in November. and Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Pa.

All of the Democrats who participated in the video, which was criticized as a call to challenge President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, had military and intelligence backgrounds.

The video was released amid a nationwide controversy over Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to several cities across the country.

Trump criticized the video and said in several Truth Social posts that the lawmakers involved in the video engaged in “provocative behavior.”

The President wrote on November 20: “This is seditious behavior at the HIGHEST LEVEL. Each of these traitors who betrayed our country MUST be arrested and tried. Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We will not have a Country anymore! MUST set an example.”

That same day, Trump wrote in a separate Truth Social post: “AGAINST BEHAVIOR is punishable by DEATH!”

The Times reported earlier this week that Pirro’s office sent an email to the Senate sergeant-at-arms requesting an interview with Slotkin or his personal attorney.

“The facts don’t really matter, but the threat is pretty significant,” Slotkin told the Times. “Threat of legal action; threat to your family; threat to your staff; threat to you.”

Pirro’s office neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the investigation.

“Like my colleagues, I was contacted by federal prosecutors who were investigating me because I created a video reminding soldiers not to obey illegal orders.” Houlahan said in another X post. “The six of us are being targeted not because we said something that wasn’t true, but because we said something that President Trump and Secretary Hegseth don’t want anyone to hear.”
