When asked whether CJP would participate in the elections, Dipke said, “Why should we participate in the elections? I mean, if everyone in this country has to participate in the elections to demand their rights… how will this happen?”
Asked whether the Prime Minister should address the country’s youth and assure them that paper leaks will not happen again, Dipke said Modi should first apologize to the parents of the five or six students who committed suicide (following the cancellation of NEET-UG scheduled for May 3).
“Pradhan Mantri ji tweets if anything happens all over the world, but here the students of this country are committing suicide and there is not even a condolence tweet from the prime minister towards them. How much longer will you talk about your ‘Mann ki Baat’ and ‘Pariksha pe Charcha’? At least listen to the Mann ki Baat of the students,” Dipke said.
The founder of CJP added that if the chief minister interacts with students, he can understand their problems and find solutions.Read more: PM must choose between students and an ‘incompetent’ minister: Dipke at CJP protest in Amritsar
He reiterated that CJP’s nationwide protest will not stop until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.
