CM Revanth Reddy Seeks Special Officers to Resolve Defence, Sainik School Issues

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has requested the Army authorities to appoint Special Officers to resolve the pending issues mainly related to land allotment and sanction of Sainik Schools through continuous negotiations.

The Chief Minister today held a ‘Civil Military Liaison Conference’ attended by Chief Secretary of State K. Ramakrishna Rao, Major General Ajay Mishra (General Officer Command, Telangana-Andhra Sub-Region), DGP Shivadhar Reddy and other senior officials from the state government and the Army. CM and Army officials discussed allocation of defense land in Telangana for development projects and pending administrative matters between Telangana government and Indian Army.

During the meeting, the CM brought to the attention of officials many issues, including the pending construction of Sainik Schools. CM Revanth Reddy stated that at least two to four Sainik Schools have been sanctioned to other states, while Telangana has been given a raw deal in the last 10 years. The Chief Minister urged the Army authorities to approve a Sainik College for the state and also demanded that the Southern Command Center headquarters be shifted to Hyderabad.

Stating that the state government is ready to expand any cooperation with the Army to strengthen national security, the CM said the government has already allocated 3,000 acres of land for setting up a low-frequency Naval radar station in Vikarabad.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that outstanding issues should be resolved through continuous discussion and reiterated his demand for the appointment of Special Officers to facilitate the process.
