Katy Perry makes first major public appearance with Justin Trudeau in Davos

katy perry and boyfriend Justin Trudeau took their love to the world stage when they made their first public appearance together.

On Tuesday, the 41-year-old pop star joined the 54-year-old former Prime Minister of Canada in Davos, Switzerland, where he spoke at the Global Soft Power Summit, an event hosted by Brand Finance in conjunction with the World Economic Forum.

Perry wore a nude button-up cardigan with balloon sleeves and a matching pencil skirt. She accessorised with geometric gold earrings and styled her hair in a stylish bun. Meanwhile, Trudeau preferred a navy blue suit, a light blue shirt and a blue-white patterned tie.

The couple was photographed smiling and holding hands at the event, and Perry was also seen watching Trudeau’s speech from the front row.

In his speech, Trudeau emphasized the importance of “soft power”, defined as the influence countries exert in international relations through values, diplomacy and cooperation.

“The 80 years of stability and prosperity the world has seen since the end of the horrors of the Second World War are over,” Trudeau said. CBC.

“That era is over. We are now in a transition period where we are creating the new world we live in,” he added.

Trudeau said some world leaders are increasingly using “hard power” tactics, including military or coercive force, to serve their national agendas in this “new world” and shared his view that nations should prioritize the use of “soft power” to better respond to today’s global challenges.

The politician appeared to be referring to Perry as he shared a personal anecdote to illustrate the effectiveness of “soft power.”

According to CBC, Trudeau recalled a recent “date with an American girl at a rooftop bar in Montreal” and “ordered a Jack and Coke,” he said.

“The server politely informed him that there was no more American alcohol, not just in that bar, but anywhere in Montreal, and probably nowhere in the entire country,” he recalled.

Trudeau explained that the incident was “an example of Canadians standing up for each other, an example of that soft power, an example of being motivated to be there for each other in a stressful and anxious time.”

Although Trudeau did not reveal the identity of the “American girl,” she and Perry were first seen together on a date in Montreal last July, according to footage obtained by TMZ. Meanwhile, they dined at luxury restaurant Le Violon and then enjoyed drinks at rooftop bar Taverne Atlantic.

They first appeared in public together in October 2025, when they were photographed holding hands as they left the Crazy Horse cabaret club in Paris after attending Perry’s birthday celebration.

The pop star made their relationship Instagram official in December 2025, adding photos of the duo as part of a slideshow featuring their adventures in Japan.

In one of the photosThe couple could be seen standing cheek to cheek as they smiled at the camera, while another showed their silhouettes standing in a dark room lit by cascading blue lights. Perry also included a black and white video of them eating sushi.

Their romance comes after Perry and her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom confirmed they had split in July. The former couple, who share 5-year-old daughter Daisy, were together for almost a decade. Trudeau separated from his wife of 18 years, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023.
