Army pays tributes to 10 soldiers killed in road accident J&K’s Doda

A wreath-laying ceremony was held in Jammu on Friday, January 23, 2026, in memory of 10 soldiers who lost their lives in a road accident on the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, officials said.
The ceremony was officiated by White Knight Corps Commander Lieutenant General PK Mishra and attended by Army, Indian Air Force (IAF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), police and civil administration officers at the technical airport, officials said.

It was also stated that wreaths were laid on the soldiers’ funerals in the name of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Jammu district Inspector General of Police, Bhim Sen Tuti and CRPF Inspector General, Jammu, R. Gopal Krishna Rao also laid wreaths on the tricolour-draped coffins of the soldiers.
Funerals of fallen soldiers – Monu from Bulandshehar-Hindom, Jobanjeet Singh (Roopnagar-Ambala), Mohit (Jhajjhar-Hindam), Shailendra Singh Bhadoriya (Morar-Gwalior), Samiran Singh (Jhargram-Kalaikonda), Pradumna Lohar (Purulia-Ranchi), Sudhir Narwal (Yamunagar – Ambala), Hare Ram Kumar Officials, (Bhojpur-Bihta), Ajay Lakra (Ranchi) and Rinkhil Baliyan (Hapur-Hindom) will be sent to their hometowns for the last rites, he said.
An Army armored vehicle carrying soldiers for a counter-terrorism operation plunged into a deep gorge at the 2,000-metre-high Khanni peak along the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate on Thursday, January 22, 2026, killing 10 soldiers and injuring 11 others.
The Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps described the incident as “unfortunate” and said the vehicle veered off the road while traveling on dangerous terrain in bad weather conditions.
