Andrew Burow: Fourth man charged over alleged murder of Brisbane father

A fourth man has been charged over the alleged torture and murder of Brisbane father Andrew Burow last year.
On Saturday, Queensland Police said a 44-year-old Lake Macdonald man had been charged with torturing and murdering the 56-year-old.
The move comes after three men were charged with kidnapping, torture, extortion, abuse of a corpse and murder over Mr Burow’s death last year.
Them; A 26-year-old man from North Lakes, a 38-year-old man from Sippy Downs and a 57-year-old man from Buderim.
The Northern Lakes man and Mr Burow are alleged to have known each other.
Police allege Mr Burow was taken from his Kelvin Grove home on August 21 and tortured at various locations in South East Queensland over the following five days.
Mr Burow’s remains were found in Maidenwell on September 2 following a tip to Crime Stoppers.
At the time, Detective Acting Inspector Murray O’Connell said Mr Burow’s family were alarmed on August 24 after he had failed to attend important events.
“He had missed a few family celebrations, they had a number of text messages to Andrew and he did not respond,” Inspector O’Connell said.
“Because of that… they were obviously worried about him and that prompted them to contact us to report him missing.
“Despite our serious concerns, we had not given up hope of finding him alive.
“The Service’s thoughts are with Andrew Burow’s family and friends at this difficult time.”

A statement from Mr. Burow’s family described him as “a caring and loving father, a loyal and generous son and brother, and someone who was always willing to give people a second chance.”
“We will miss his enthusiasm for life, entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to try ideas,” they said.
“Even though terrible things were happening to good people, it was comforting to see the deep care of these officers and their focus on a safe and just society.
“As a family, these are values we share and we are grateful to everyone who works tirelessly on Andrew’s behalf.”
The Lake Macdonald man is expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 5.
