Men bailed after teenager injured in park

Two men arrested after a teenager was injured in a Leicester park have been released on bail pending further investigation.

Leicestershire Police said a 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital on Tuesday after reports of men carrying “sharp weapons” in Western Park.

The injured boy was later discharged but on Friday police carried out operations at two locations in a bid to make further arrests, including sending armed officers to Bath Lane.

Two men, aged 28 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of affray and released on bail.

Searches were continuing in the Bath Lane area, including nearby waters, on Sunday.

Leicestershire Police added that police divers were assisting in the search for items that would assist the investigation.

Two 17-year-old boys, also arrested on suspicion of fighting, were released on bail earlier this week.
