Regular viewers are used to seeing broadcaster and former MP Gyles Brandreth on the programme.
‘My initial concern that he would somehow compromise this dual role was unfounded.’
Meanwhile, Jaci also praised a recognizable face as she wrote: ‘Gyles Brandreth is delightful and If it were up to me, it would be on TV 24/7.
‘His intelligence, quick wit, charm and versatile genius never fail to impress.’
Finally, he offered a review of Alison Hammond, who has been co-presenting Friday since 2021.
Jaci wrote: ‘I love Alison Hammond but she is not an interviewer and the idea that she is needs to be hit over the head with a very large hammer.’
Alison, 50, has been with This Morning since 2002, serving as reporter and presenter until 2021.
It was later confirmed that she and Dermot O’Leary, 52, would replace Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes as regular presenters on Friday.
As for Jaci, her time on This Morning overlapped with original hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.
Discussing her experience of working with the duo, she wrote of The i: ‘I worked with Richard and Judy and it would be difficult to find a more impressive pair of consummate professionals.
‘Richard takes a lot of stick but I learned a lot from both him and Judy.
‘They were not only great presenters, but also sharp journalists with the populist Midas touch, touching the heartfelt sensitivities of the audience.’
He added: ‘The problem is that the show keeps recreating this template, which in my opinion it has consistently failed to do.’
