Savannah Guthrie reveals chilling contact from mother’s alleged abductors

US television presenter Savannah Guthrie has made a new public appeal for the safe return of her mother Nancy, who investigators believe was abducted from her home in Arizona under suspicious circumstances last weekend.
In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday morning Australian time, the NBC Today host speaks directly to those responsible for the disappearance and suggests his family has been contacted.
“We got your message and we understand,” Guthrie says.
“Now we beg you to give us back our mother so we can celebrate with her,” he says, holding hands with his siblings.
Guthrie makes it clear in the video that his family is willing to pay and do whatever it takes to get their mother home safely.
The message followed an earlier appeal that Guthrie noted this week amid reports of ransom communications, in which he said the family “received your message and we understand.”
The new footage is seen as confirmation that the Guthrie family has been contacted by those allegedly behind the disappearance and marks a turn in the case after days of uncertainty.
Authorities believe 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped against her will from her home in Tucson. While police reported signs of forced entry to the property, DNA testing confirmed that the blood found on the front porch was his.
Investigators have not released further details about the communications the family reportedly received while investigations are ongoing.
