Met Office names UK areas set for snow before Friday | Weather | News

The weather map shows which areas in the UK are expected to see snow soon. Met Office forecasts show falling temperatures could lead to snowfall in parts of Scotland and northern England this Friday.

In recent weeks, UK households have experienced heavy rain, sleet, wind and ice on various days. Although no weather warnings have been issued for Friday, February 13, the agency’s map shows patches of white across Scotland and the north of England, suggesting snowfall is expected for that day.

It seems that snowfall covers the regions in the days until Friday. But on Friday the map shows weather conditions will affect areas as far north as Wick in the Scottish Highlands and as far north as Cumbria.

Snowy conditions appear to be shifting southwards as the day progresses, hitting more areas including Greater Manchester and Staffordshire in the evening.

Although snow will be seen in many regions until Friday, heavy snowfall is not expected, with white and gray spots on the map indicating less than 4 mm and 0.5 to 4 mm of snow, respectively.

While rain is expected along with snow, showers are expected throughout the country throughout the day.

According to the Met Office’s long-term weather forecasts for February 13 to February 22, unstable conditions come “with cyclonic patterns expected to dominate across the UK”. The results of the systems are winds, rising air, and cloud-covered, stormy weather.

The Met Office said: “We could see colder conditions becoming more common for a while early in this period, which could bring the possibility of some snow, particularly in the north and north-east.

“However, this will offer a few days’ respite from the wet weather in the south. By the end of this period, the track of Atlantic depressions may shift slightly further north than in the last few weeks.”

Britons are urged to monitor their local weather forecasts, especially as weather warnings are now available. Doing this will ensure households are prepared for harsh weather conditions and stay safe.
