India, Greece sign Joint Declaration of Intent to boost defence industrial cooperation

They exchanged the 2026 Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan, which sets the course for military engagements between the Armed Forces of both countries. Greece announced the appointment of a Greek International Liaison Officer at the Information Fusion Center-Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) in Gurugram.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Minister of National Defense of the Hellenic Republic Nikolaos-Georgios Dendias in New Delhi, where they reiterated that the India-Greece Strategic Partnership is based on shared values of peace, stability, freedom and mutual respect.
They discussed various issues related to regional peace and security and acknowledged deepening bilateral defense cooperation and strategic ties. During the meeting, the two ministers underlined the rapprochement between both the former maritime nations on various important maritime issues.
During their stay in India, the Greek Delegation also visited key defense and industrial establishments in Bengaluru and interacted with representatives of DPSUs, defense industry and start-ups in New Delhi.
The visit reaffirms the strategic partnership between India and the Hellenic Republic, which is based on the long-standing warm and close relationship between both countries and people, the government said in a statement.
