Pep Guardiola tells team to ‘enjoy life’ with cocktails as Man City pile pressure on Arsenal

City may not have the machine-like fluidity and relentless winning style of Guardiola’s teams that won four Premier League titles in a row, but those memories could still come into play for many who will play their part in the coming weeks.
One of the new faces is the giant Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who won the Champions League with Paris St-Germain last season and is currently pursuing new successes and horizons with Manchester City.
He’s a flawed goalkeeper in some ways, especially under crosses, but he has an uncanny, invaluable habit of making stunning match-winning saves that makes up for his other failings.
He did so with a stunning stoppage-time save from Alexis Mac Allister in the City win at Liverpool in what could be considered the highlight of the season, and he repeated it here.
As the final seconds ticked down with Newcastle pressing for a point, Donnarumma used his massive wingspan to reach low to his right to turn away Harvey Barnes’ shot on target.
Seconds later the final whistle blew and the Etihad Stadium was filled with celebrations.
Time will tell how important these saves and wins will be, but City are now in a position where they have previously thrived.
Win all your matches. Win the Premier League.
The landscape now shifts towards North London with the pressure on as Arsenal face a perilous trip to Spurs.
