Prince of Wales says he’s not ‘calm enough right now’ to watch emotional film Hamnet.
Prince William shared his thoughts on the award-winning film as he appeared on stage with the Princess of Wales for the first time since his uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest on Thursday.
Speaking at the BAFTA ceremony, the heir to the throne said his wife was left “in flood of tears” after watching Chloé Zhao’s film, which was nominated for 11 awards, on Saturday night.

After being held in police custody for about 12 hours, he was released under investigation on Thursday evening, his 66th birthday.
The Welshmen’s grand appearance at the BAFTA ceremony on Sunday evening, their first at the awards since 2023, marked a welcome reprieve from the unfolding scandal.

The couple have made no further comment since Andrew’s arrest but the King insisted “the law must take its course” and police will have the palace’s “wholehearted support and co-operation” in their investigation.
The monarch said a “full, fair and appropriate process” must now take place, and the Prince and Princess are understood to support this statement.
