A major fire and rescue operation is underway in London; 10 fire trucks and about 70 firefighters are fighting a fire at a church in the capital.

A spokesman confirmed that, according to the London Fire Brigade, the chapel in South Road, Southall, was completely destroyed and “the ground floor, second floor and part of the roof” were engulfed in flames.

Crews from Southall, Ealing, Heston and neighboring fire stations rushed to the scene after nearly two dozen emergency calls from members of the public who alerted authorities to the fire. reports The Mirror.
