TUCSON, Ariz. — One of the Nancy Guthrie’s Nest doorbell camera images released by the FBI was taken on a different date than the others, a source with knowledge of the investigation confirmed to Fox News Digital on Monday.
New details show the masked suspect staked out the home before the suspected kidnapping of 84-year-old Guthrie on Feb. 1.
The source declined to specify what day the previous footage was taken, citing an active investigation.
Authorities alternately asked neighbors to check their homes’ security systems throughout January, on the night of Jan. 11 and during the hours between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, when Guthrie disappeared.
A source familiar told Fox News Digital that the two photos of the suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell video were taken on different days. (FBI)
The suspicious reconnaissance visit was first reported by ABC News, citing unnamed sources.
The statement also revealed that whatever data the FBI and Google accessed to recover the missing video involved more than just the last event in his camera’s memory.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Guthrie’s doorbell camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m. the night he was abducted. At 2:12, one of their cameras recorded a person but did not record the incident.

Fox News Digital has reached out to PCSD and the FBI for comment.
Experts had questioned whether the masked figure was the same person, due in part to differences in clothing and the apparent lack of a backpack and a holstered gun.
