Police find ute of alleged gunman Kenneth John Giles, 58, who has been missing in Western Australia’s Mid-West

Police have found a 4WD belonging to a gunman who allegedly shot his partner three weeks ago and fled into Western Australia’s bushland.
Kenneth John Giles, 58, was last seen leaving a property near Mullewa, 445 kilometers north of Perth, after the alleged shooting and has not been seen since January 7.
On Wednesday police found Mr Giles’ Nissan Patrol vehicle abandoned in woodland near Nunierra, about 70km north of Mullewa.
Significant police resources were deployed to the Mid-West region to search for Mr Giles, who remains missing.
WA Police Superintendent Neil Vanderplank told the media they were determined to find the alleged gunman but did not know if he was still alive.
“There are a lot of wild animals out there, including a lot of wild boar, so if it dies there won’t be much left of it,” Mr. Vanderplank said.

“We’ll always have that thought in the back of our minds, ‘This guy is alive and someone is helping him, or he’s dead.’
“There are some water houses and kangaroos there, if you are a skilled enough hunter you can survive.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
