Former Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam Likely To Join DMK Today

Chennai: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam is likely to join Dravida Munnetra Kazagham (DMK) on Friday ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections, sources said.
This move follows the OPS camp’s recent praise for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and anticipation of the DMK government’s return to the state.
Earlier on Friday, Tamil Nadu MLA P Ayyappan, seen as part of former CM O Paneerselvam’s camp, expressed his desire to see MK Stalin leading the state again after the next assembly elections.
Ayyappan stated in the Assembly that MK Stalin should once again become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. I express my gratitude to the prayers of Puratchi Thalaivar MGRamachandran and Puratchi Thalaivi Amma J. Jayalalithaa and the good wishes of our elder brother O. Panneerselvam.
“The Breakfast Program was implemented with a visionary perspective. The Prime Minister offers hot meals to young children coming to primary schools, like a mother.”
“Those who once raised slogans claiming that the Prime Minister gave only Rs 5,000 are nowhere to be seen today. As long as Tamil Nadu exists, the Breakfast Show will continue to praise the Prime Minister. In the coming elections, MK Stalin must win once again and return as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. With the blessings of Puratchi Thalaivar MGR and Puratchi Thalaivi Amma and our elder brother O. Panneerselvam, I express my gratitude at this time.” added Ayyappan.
The 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly will go to polls in the first half of 2026, where the MK Stalin-led alliance will try to engineer ‘Dravidian Model 2.0’ to win against the BJP-AIADMK alliance.
Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s entry with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is expected to turn the Tamil Nadu polls into a three-way contest. In 2021 polls, DMK won 133 seats in 2021 Assembly polls. Congress won 18 seats, PMK five, VCK four and others eight. The Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), comprising the DMK-led Congress, collectively won 159 seats. While NDA won 75 seats, AIADMK emerged as the largest party in the alliance with 66 seats.
