Sandwich-eating burglar caught in victim’s kitchen | News

A sandwich-eating thief was found eating in his victim’s kitchen after stealing her jewellery.

Costin Stan, 33, of HMP Moorland, was found going upstairs by his Nottingham landlords in November 2024. He asked for food and denied entering their home to steal.

After giving Stan a sandwich, the couple noticed jewelery taken from his bedroom drawer and called the police.

Police found Stan sitting in the kitchen eating a sandwich. He was arrested for theft and investigations revealed that he had made another trespassing in the area 10 days earlier.

He was jailed for two years and eight months after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, February 25.
