UK Maritime Agency Confirms Explosion, Oil Spill Incident Near Kuwait

Kuwait: A tanker off the coast of Kuwait was hit by a “massive explosion”, causing an oil spill, British maritime safety agency UKMTO said on Thursday.

According to the agency’s statement published on the X site, “The captain of an anchored tanker reports that he witnessed and heard a large explosion on the port side, and then saw a small boat leaving the vicinity.”

“The water coming from the cargo tank contains oil, which could have an environmental impact.”
